An original two-in-one design candle, designed by Dorothée Meilichzon, in the form of Acqua di Parma’s iconic Art Deco fragrance bottle diffusing the scent of Mirto di Panarea.
The name 'Chapeau' cleverly dons a double meaning: not just a tip of the hat, but also a spirited nod to 'compliment.
Concealed within the Art Deco sculptural form are two candles. The cap, crafted from glazed stoneware, is a 330-gram one-wick candle, rich in the colorblue . The handcrafted ceramic bottom part of the bottle is a second 1600-gram four-wick candle, maintaining the pure and crisp design of its signature shape with an even and expansive illumination. This interplay of textures and finishes not only highlights the technical prowess involved but also adds a layer of visual and tactile intrigue. Crafted with the utmost care, the base of the piece starts as a 'biscuit' - a term denoting the initial, unglazed ceramic that, once shaped and oven-set, is sanded to smoothness in a meticulous process that takes up to 30 minutes yet retains a raw, tactile quality. The result is a unique matte surface with a nuanced feel. This contrasts beautifully with the lid, which is first glazed, and then put in the oven. To ensure the vibrancy of the blue hue, another layer of glaze is applied before the piece is fired again, resulting in a glossy, refined finish that complements the base's earthiness. The tactile, hand embossed plaque on each candle is a modern reinterpretation of the iconic Acqua di Parma label. The manual finishing of the cap and the hand poured wax merges the precision of modern production with the nuanced finesse of handcraftsmanship. Mirto di Panarea embodies the aromatic warmth of myrtle combined with basil and sparkling citrus accents of lemon and Calabrian bergamot. Sea breeze accents and fresh juniper notes meet jasmine and rose, bringing a feeling of calm and harmony.
