Gorjue is a New York based mom and daughter cosmetics brand that’s colors are inspired by foods from around the world, from New York Hotdog to Japanese ramen lipstick! No, they don’t taste like the food they are inspired by, but the color of the lipstick does represent those vibrant or earthy colors of those delectable foods!
Gorjue was founded in 2017 and is based in Brooklyn, New York. Their products are vegan, cruelty free, soy, and gluten free. With Maesa’s background in healthcare, they truly believe in promoting clean products. Maesa and her daughter are vegan and do believe that you can be vegan and a foodie too!
In 2019, Gorjue won the Indie Beauty Expo Buyer Award and were one of the top 3 finalists for Indie Beauty Best In Show Lip Color. Check them out at gorjue.com and @gorjuenyc on Facebook and Instagram.
The CEO, Maesa was destined to be an artist, but had a daughter at 18 years old. She worked in healthcare for 13 years earning her doctorate degree putting her 200% in providing for her family, but still always had a love for art. She and her daughter bonded over makeup and while watching a makeup tutorial, her daughter noticed that the lipstick swatch was hotdog color! Maesa knew she wanted to buy a hotdog lipstick for her daughter, but could not find one in the market. And like lightening, the mother daughter duo designed a foodie branded cosmetics line, creating the art Maesa always wanted to do! Maesa always says, “It’s as if I had to have had my daughter in order to really fulfill my dreams.”
Gorjue will design clean and high quality makeup products that give the elements of beautiful transformations while making the most impactful, nostalgic, positive experience and intimate journey.
