To choose the right shade, first choose the level that matches your complexion best.
For example, if you are fair to light skinned, you will be Level 1. Then select the shade within each Dermablend product line that is closest to your skintone.
For example, if you are fair with a pink undertone you will choose the color Pale Ivory, if you are fair with a yellow undertone you will choose the color Warm Ivory etc.
